The 2000 Associates Set of 45 Case xx Pocket Knives

You may know that KnifeDB.com is working to perfect about 130 knife clubs, and 300 sets.  Here is a great set from the year 2000.  It is the Case Associates set of 45 knives.   There are 15 patterns and each is made in stag, antique and black bone.   KnifeDB has an image of each knife, as well as the original box and COA.   There are at least two actual selling prices for each knife (some with 4 or 5 prices).  There is also a large selling price for the whole set.  Several of the knives have individually sold for more than $200.  The interesting thing about the knives in this set–they are hard to identify.  The only way to tell them is if the pins and liners are nickel silver.  There are no other identifiers.   A collector who doesn’t know this fact might treat these as regular production and miss a great collecting opportunity.  One other great point–every knife can be found with a 2000 date stamp.  BUT, the 5149L SS CopperLock can also be found with a 1999 date stamp, splitting the 350 stag CopperLocks into two variations, and making these two knives the rarest knives in the set.
