The true value of a Case pocket knife is very important to a Case XX collector.  How much should I pay for a knife or how much is this knife really worth when I sell it?  We believe that KnifeDB.com gives the collector the most accurate estimates  of prices. Here’s how.

First, the  prices added to listed knives are actual selling prices along with the year of the sale.  These two pieces of information then allow the effect of inflation to be calculated for the knife.  Below is the actual price table for a 1940 to 1964 era rough black peanut (6220).    The first sale price is  $38 in 2006 for a good worn knife.  Today $62.34 would be the exact same price. Then in 2010 the knife sold for $460 or $697 in todays inflated dollars.  Notice that there is a high price and low price for this knife shown also.  These are possible buy and sell targets.  You want to buy at the low price and sell at the high.  But consideration must also be given for the quality codes of the knife when it was purchased.  (1 = New, 2 = Used, 3 = Worn, 4 = Broke).
