The Alabama Gun Collectors Case Knife Series

Here is a very early series of  6 collector knives.  It was made for the Alabama Gun Collectors Association 25th thru 30th Anniversary.  Six trappers make up the series, each with a different handle.   The knifes were made from 1979 to 1984 in very low quantities for the time.  For example,  the Kentucky Bicentennial knives were made in the thousands, while the 3oth Anniversary knife from this series was made in the largest quantity-only 304 pieces.  (See the COA) below.   Each year came in its own special box.  And several knives have the unusual nested double C model number stamp.  This stamp was a factory designation when the model number stamp handle code did not match the handle material.   For example:  the stag handle trapper  says  “Cc 6254” when it should read “5254”.    This is the factory way of saying,  “We know the model number stamp isn’t right, but we made it this way on purpose, so get over it”.    The six knives all have serial numbers and different blade work.  After the 30th Anniversary knife was made, the series stopped.  The Alabama Gun Collectors Association is still around, but I haven’t found another Case knife from them.  The full series details, selling prices, boxes, and so on are inside.
